Monterey Wedding Photographer | Memory Garden | Shuli and Miguel

Shuli and Miguel started their lives together on a gorgeous afternoon at the Monterey Memory Garden.  The Memory Garden is a hidden gem along the shores of the Monterey Bay.  You’ll come across Spanish-style white walls tucked amongst the buildings before walking through a beautiful arch followed by a vine-covered wood trellis into the Memory Garden.  Upon entering the garden, you’re transported to a cozy combination of romance and fantasy.  The Memory Garden was the perfect venue for Shuli and Miguel’s storybook-themed wedding. Every detail of their wedding was carefully drawn from the years of their growing relationship and reading dates. Surrounded by the intimate cover of trees and vines, Shuli and Miguel brought all the guests to tears as they professed their vows to each other.  We wish the new couple all the best!

This was truly a DIY wedding, with their community of friends greatly assisting with the inspiration, design, and setup.

Even the house the bride got ready in match her yellow color scheme.

The perfect lace back to this dress.

Proud parents!

In lieu of a veil, Shuli wore this gorgeous lace headband.

Each bridesmaid wore a yellow dress of her choice accented with vintage-style jewelry, handmade by the bride herself.

Who doesn’t love a first look?!

Sign in table, with pictures from their parents’ weddings.

Some of the handmade ceremony details.

A group prayer, before the ceremony begins.

Ringbearer holding books instead of a pillow.

So many tears were shed this day. When the couple started crying, so did most of the guests. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd!

What happens when tears …

… turn to laughter.

We love this moment right after Miguel kissed Shuli.  Such a tender moment.

Don’t you just want to swoon over the rose centerpieces and paper pendants made from book pages?

Dads giving their toasts!

The weather ended up being colder than expected! The two lovely ceremony musicians huddling for warmth.

His mom is a professional singer.

After she sang a piece for the guests, the groom suddenly got up with his parents and brother …. to sing a song for his new bride. :’)
