about Junshien

Hi.

I am the keeper of memories.
I help couples remember
one of the most beautiful days of their lives.
Some people call me a wedding photographer.
I tell stories with pictures,
paint visions with light,
share laughter with strangers.

I love to make friends, but I’m lousy at breaking the ice.
Still, I’ll keep working at it for both of us,
because that beats standing around
smiling awkwardly at each other.

I have one of the best photography mentors ever!
But one day, I’m going to be better than him.;) (shhhh)

Wonder and beauty can be found in the most unlikely places.
The wind reminds me of freedom, the sky of love.
If I could have one superpower, I’d choose to fly.

I want to live an extrordinary life.
I want to change the world.
(Doesn’t everybody?)
Yes, but I’m actually going to do it.
Will you join me?

See, this truth changed my life:
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs.
Ask yourself what makes you come alive,
because what the world needs
is people who have come alive.”

California has the most gorgeous weather
and I wouldn’t move anywhere else.
But one day, I want to visit Japan,
to see the sakura trees blossom across the land.
And Scotland, to hear the sound of bagpipes
float across the Moor
as the sun slowly sinks beneath the horizon.
And Madrid, to partake in the Running of the Bulls
with a crowd of a thousand Spaniards.
And then I will come back and share it with all of you.:)

This is not really a poem.
But I’ve found if you use random line breaks
and make everything center justified,
people will think you are writing poetry.
I think that’s funny.
(You should try it sometime.)

My name is Junshien and I love my life.
I hope you love yours too.

Junshien - @Miyako: Hey Miyako! That quote is by Howard Thurman. He was a philosopher, theologian, and civil rights leader.

Miyako - I love the quote about what the world needs. I totally agree. Where is it from…?
